On one of the FREEZING cold spring nights that we had, Mike went out to get something from the backyard and picked up a few things while he was out there. Hiding under something was a tiny baby bunny. Mike ran in and got me and I immediately suggested we bring it in at least for the night to keep him warm. We put him in a box with water, carrots, grass/weeds, and a towel.
Preston was in for a big surprise when he woke up the next morning.
I love Preston's reaction and that he clicked for the bunny to come to him. So cute. We named him Sanka from the movie Cool Runnings because we were so worried we would go to check on him and he would be dead his spirit would no longer be with us. For those who haven't seen Cool Runnings or don't remember, there is a character named Sanka and after he crashes another character in the movie runs over and says "Hey Sanka, you dead?". When we would check on the bunny, Mike would say "Hey Sanka, you dead?" in a Jamaican accent (like the guys from Cool Runnings) and so Sanka became the bunny's name.
Sanka was only with us a few short days until the weather warmed up and then we released him.
